The restaurants in Lorne are predominantly spread out along one road, across from a grassy reserve with the beach beyond.
This means there are filtered views from many of the cafes along the main street however some are better than others – here is a list of the best options for Lorne restaurants with a view.
1. Almyra
Previously the Beach Pavilion (I haven’t visited since the change in ownership so I’m planning on going ASAP) this is my favourite spot in Lorne for day drinking in the sunshine as it has absolute beach frontage with bay views. Almyra has a big outdoor courtyard for sunny days, an in between undercover area and big picture windows inside for staying warm in the winter.
2. Qdos Cafe
Best for those with a car, the Qdos cafe is tucked away out the back of Lorne with views over the towering eucalyptus trees. Only open thur-sat be sure to check up-to-date hours when planning a visit.

3. HAH Lorne Beach
Health & Hire Lorne Beach (HAH) has a beachfront location and offers casual dining for coffee, smoothies and wholefoods with a side of water views.
4. Lorne Hotel
Serving up classic pub meals, the Lorne hotel is perched just a touch higher up the hill than some other options in town, giving its upstairs beer garden great views over the bay.
5. Swing Bridge Cafe & Boathouse
A cute little building tucked on the edge of the swing bridge, the Swing Bridge Cafe has a little deck with views on to the Erskine River.

Grand Pacific Hotel Lorne – Currently Closed
The Grand Pacific Hotel in Lorne has been standing watch over town since before the Great Ocean Road was officially finished, in fact, people watched its opening from the hotel according to the museum in town. So hopefully the restaurant in this grand old building opens again to guests to once again allow people to enjoy its beautiful sunset views from the outdoor patio.
