Bendigo & Goldfields Region
Bridgewater Hotel on Loddon River at Bridgewater on Loddon
The Bridgewater Hotel is a beautiful art deco building on the Loddon River. Its huge beer garden looks over the Loddon River and is the perfect place for a summer session in the sun.
Alternatively, rug up winter with a beanie and jacket like I did as the beer garden is the only place with river views.
See their menu on their website. Vegan (which I got and it was delicious), vegetarian and gluten free options available as well as traditional pub meals like steak (my friend got the special steak on the night and say it was awesome).
Great Ocean Road & Otways
Wye Beach Hotel
The Wye Beach Hotel has outdoor tables on the deck for summer sunshine and floor to ceiling windows for beach views when you want to sit inside on cold winter days.
Gippsland
The Marlo Hotel
Perched on a rise with filtered sea views the Marlo Hotel not only boasts one of Victoria’s best pubs with an ocean view but also has very good food and friendly staff.
It’s dog friendly on the deck and lawn, kid friendly earlier in the evening and sounded like it was going off later at night in the school holidays.
With comfortable and reasonably priced accommodation (with dog friendly options) available 50 metres away at the Marlo Caravan Park and Motel (booking.com), it’s a great destination for a cheeky night away in Regional Victoria or a stop on an east coast road trip.
