West Barwon Reservoir

IMPORTANT INFORMATION Always check up to date government safety information before visiting parks and remote areas. This blog is reader supported- I may make a commission if you purchase from links – Privacy Policy.

The West Barwon Reservoir is an interesting place and it also has some good walks and bushwalks that are dog friendly (and tracks that are part of the Forrest Mountain Bike trail network).

There are 3 main walks in the Reservior – along the Reservoir Wall, Fern Gully & the Loop Walk. In addition, you can walk along the MTB tracks (they are wide and green grade with clear views so easy to move off the path should riders approach) to create loop walks or a longer/return walk to the township of Forrest.

While visiting the area around Forrest it’s also worth doing the Lake Elizabeth Walk and calling into the Brewery for a tasting paddle or the General Store for a homemade pie or local produce.
